Here are some Educational Praxis events from 2009!!
Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) presents Human Rights cases against private military contractors in Iraq. (September 2009) CCR's lead attorney and international human rights associate presented on current lawsuits against private military contractors, such as Blackwater.
Militarizing the Globe Film Series (April 2009) Educational Praxis presented a month long film series examining the military and its effects on the globe. Films included Winter Solider, Abu Ghraib, Who is Mordechai Vanunu, Arsenals of Hypocrisy, Marines Go Home, and Blackwater.
Diversity Day (March 2009) Educational Praxis members presented at Brattleboro Union High School to students, teachers and community members on various issues including media literacy, food and nutrition, labor union struggles, and white privilege. This event is coordinated at the high school twice are year and provides opportunities to high school students to investigate the conditions in which we live.
Gaza and the Right of Return Speaking Tour (February-March 2009) Ziad Abbas, a Palestinian refugee and journalist from Dheisheh Refugee Camp in the West Bank, presented on Gaza and the Right of Return in an east coast speaking tour.
